Collagen‑Specific Dryer — Centrifugal Spray Dryer

I. Product Overview

Collagen is a biological macromolecule, a white, opaque, unbranched fibrous protein.

Sources include fish‑derived collagen (fish scales, fish skin), porcine collagen, bovine collagen, chicken‑sourced collagen and ossein. Ossein is mainly Type‑I collagen. Studies have found that hydrolyzed Type‑I collagen can specifically promote the growth of chondrocytes for Type‑II collagen cartilage, increasing cell growth rate by 2.5 times. This mechanism may stem from the feedback mechanism of cartilage tissue. Such effect cannot be observed with other proteins such as wheat protein and high‑molecular‑weight collagen. Both hydrolyzed Type‑I and Type‑II collagen exert significant promoting effects on chondrocytes, with no notable difference between their performances.

II. Equipment Overview

This unit is a device capable of completing drying and granulation simultaneously. The pressure and flow rate of the feed‑liquid pump as well as nozzle orifice size can be adjusted according to process requirements to obtain spherical particles with desired size distribution.

Working process: Feed liquid is delivered under high pressure by a diaphragm pump and atomized into fine droplets. Droplets flow downward co‑currently with hot air. Most powder‑granule products are collected at the tower bottom discharge port. Exhaust gas and fine powders are separated via a cyclone separator. Exhaust gas is discharged by an exhaust fan while fine powders are collected in a powder receiver under the cyclone separator. A secondary dust‑removal unit can be fitted at the fan outlet, achieving a powder recovery rate of 96%‑98%.

All material‑contact components including tower body, pipelines and separators are fabricated from SUS304 stainless steel. A rock‑wool insulation layer is filled between the inner tower body and outer shell. The tower is equipped with access doors, sight glasses, light sources and control instruments, which are controlled and displayed on the electrical control console.

Heat sources can be steam heater, electric heater or other types, featuring easy operation, fast start‑up, compact structure and clean hot‑air supply. Heat‑source regulating devices inside the electrical cabinet enable stepless adjustment of inlet air temperature. Multiple heating solutions are available per customer’s actual requirements.

Equipment Features

‑ Fast drying speed. Atomization greatly enlarges the surface area of feed liquid. 95‑98% of moisture evaporates instantly in hot‑air stream within only tens of seconds. It is especially suitable for drying heat‑sensitive materials.

‑ Wide application range. Hot‑air drying or cold‑air granulation can be adopted according to material properties, delivering strong material adaptability.
