Rotary Kiln Dryer

The rotary kiln dryer consists of a slightly inclined cylindrical shell with adjustable rotating speed within a specified range. Wet materials are fed into the cylinder by a feeder. Under the turning action of lifting plates evenly arranged inside the cylinder, materials are uniformly distributed and dispersed within the dryer, and make full contact with hot air (co-current or counter-current) passing through the cylinder. This accelerates heat and mass transfer for drying to achieve material dehydration.

Working Principle
The working principle of the rotary kiln dryer: liquid or slurry materials form a thin film on the drum surface heated by steam or other heat carriers. Materials are fully dried within one full rotation of the drum. The finished product is scraped off by a scraper. The exposed drum surface contacts raw materials again to form a new material film for subsequent drying.

Technical Parameters

Product Features
● High drying rate.
● Wide operating flexibility: Broad adaptability to various materials and different production capacity requirements.
● High thermal efficiency: Typical thermal efficiency ranges from 80% to 90%.
● Short drying time: The drying cycle of materials is generally only 10–300 seconds, suitable for heat-sensitive materials. When installed in a vacuum chamber, the drum dryer can operate under reduced pressure.

Product Applications
● Drying of large-particle and high-specific-gravity materials in chemical, mining, metallurgical and other industries.
Examples: ores, blast furnace slag, coal, metal powders, phosphate fertilizer, ammonium sulfate.

● Drying of powders and granular materials with special requirements.
Examples: HP foaming agent, distiller's grains residue, light calcium carbonate, activated clay, magnetic powder, graphite, medicinal residue.

● Materials requiring low-temperature drying and large-volume continuous drying.
