The ZPG vacuum rake dryer is an innovative horizontal batch vacuum drying equipment. Wet materials are dehydrated by conductive evaporation. A scraper agitator continuously renews materials on the heating surface and pushes materials inside the vessel to form a circulating flow. The evaporated moisture is extracted by a vacuum pump. This machine adopts large-area jacket heating with a substantial heat transfer area and high thermal efficiency. The built-in agitator enables continuous circulation of materials within the cylinder, further improving the uniformity of material heating. Therefore, it can smoothly dry slurry, paste and cake materials.
Working Principle
The vacuum rake dryer is mainly composed of a shell, rotating shaft and rake teeth.
The rake dryer operates under vacuum. First, wet materials are loaded into the dryer, and the stirring device is started. Heat medium is fed into the jacket. Moisture in materials is removed via jacket heat transfer and vacuum pumping.
Forward and reverse rotation of the rake teeth continuously pushes materials toward the center and both ends during drying, which ensures timely renewal of the heat transfer surface and accelerates the rate of heat and mass transfer.
When materials are dried to the specified moisture content, heating is stopped, the vacuum system is shut down, and dried materials are discharged to complete one operating cycle.
This dryer is suitable for drying slurry, paste, granular and fibrous materials. It offers many advantages especially for heat-sensitive materials and drying processes requiring recovery of organic vapors.
