The screw extrusion granulator is used for wet‑process production of various‑size granules in pharmaceutical, chemical, food, feed and other industries. Granules produced by this machine are force‑extruded through screws and mesh plates, featuring regular shape, compact texture and low fine‑powder content. A granule cutting device is arranged at the discharge port. Long extruded strips will naturally break into short uniform granules after drying.
Working Principle
Screw extrusion granulators are available in single‑screw and twin‑screw types, with two extrusion modes: front discharge and side discharge. Mixed and kneaded wet materials or materials with low softening point (generally below 50 °C) are conveyed and compressed by screws, then extruded through the perforated die plate at the head. Powdery raw materials are thereby converted into uniform cylindrical granules. The diameter of finished granules is controlled by the aperture size of die holes. Side‑discharge size ranges from 0.7‑2.0 mm, while front‑discharge size ranges from 1.5‑12 mm.

Secondary pollution caused by powder handling is avoided, and physical properties of final products are significantly improved. Bulk density of granulated products is generally increased substantially, saving space for transportation, storage and packaging. For multi‑component blended products, granulation prevents component segregation so as to guarantee product quality.
Granulated products enjoy long shelf life, suitable for manufacturing granular instant preparations in traditional Chinese medicine and food industries.
The machine is made of stainless steel with polished surface, allowing easy disassembly and cleaning. It is especially suitable for granulation of materials that cannot be processed by conventional wet granulation methods.

Widely applied for granulation of rubber additives, food additives, plastic additives, catalysts, pesticides, dyes, pigments, daily‑chemical products and other materials. It can also crush agglomerated block‑shaped dry materials.
